My name is Julie Fenoglio and I have been a Registered Nurse for 15 years. I wanted to start this blog to help other women and men that have been battling with the same issue I have for years…weight.

During my teenage years and twenties I was always very athletic and never had a problem with my weight. After my first child, I was in my normal jeans within a couple days. My second child took a little longer, but I did get back into my normal sized clothes without much problem. The older I got and the more stress I had at work, the more I craved simple carbohydrates, sugar, and salt After my third child, I absolutely had the worst time losing weight and thus started the “roller coaster of yo-yo dieting”.

I am now 42 years old and I know that my adrenal glands are burned out due to the stress of dieting, work, and personal life which has wreaked havock on my body in form of insulin resistance (a precursor to diabetes) and being unable to lose weight fast like I used to, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, joint pain, and fat deposits around my stomach, hips, butt, and thighs. Oh, to be young again!

I have been able to lose 20 pounds in the last 2 months and started to heal my body and metabolism by eating low to medium glycemic index foods and fats-Real whole foods and fats. Yes, you heard right, you have to eat fat to lose fat. Fat and Protein keep you full longer and fiber from complex carbohydrates (vegetables and whole grains) also help to decrease cholesterol and blood pressure and stabilize your insulin levels which in turn, decreases cravings for “BAD” foods.
